Donna with Addis James

Donna Broderick is a Certified Professional Midwife who began her pursuit of midwifery after the birth of her daughter at home in 1993. After receiving her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, she studied midwifery with the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance. She then completed her training with a traditional 4 year apprenticeship in a homebirth practice, followed by a short stint working at a busy birth center on the Texas/Mexico border.

She has been working as a community midwife in the midcoast area since 1999. During this time, she has been blessed with the opportunity to attend over 300 families choosing to give birth at home, along with many others whom she has worked for as a doula or childbirth educator. Donna also practices the Arvigo technique of Mayan Abdominal Therapy, helping women achieve optimal reproductive health.

She lives in Montville with her long-term partner, her wonderful daughter, and is adorned with a slew of stepchildren and five grandkids. She enjoys gardening, kayaking, napping, and distance running.
